Grand Dame Vera Allister explained this was an assistant manager to the Dahl megacorporation. Her nephew immediately sought out her help afterwards, and said he had no memory of the incident at all. She believed him and helped him secure a small craft and funds to escape. She suggested the Overnelt-9 system until a solution could be found. This was 3 weeks ago.
Word has come to Grand Dame Vera Allister that her brother, Grand Duke Adam Allister employed bounty hunters to find out where Duke Winston was. She feared that Winston will be killed. She thinks her brute of a brother was seeking a quick end to this situation in order to appease the megacorps in the system. He has another son that is favored to rule and likely wanted to ensure a smooth future transition of power.
Grand Dame Vera Allister has seen that helping her nephews escape was a mistake. She asked the crew to find Winston and return him to the noble family before any law enforcement or bounty hunters do so first. She offered a ring with the family crest, and stated it would ensure Winston will believe what they tell him about returning. She expected a trial, but Winston returning would likely help ensure leniency in sentencing.
The crew accepted the offer, jumped to Overnelt-9, and sought out to find Winston. They followed leads to another small city, only to come across a rival group of mercenaries led by a small, muscular, scarred man. A firefight ensued and the crew was able to escape with Winston.
On the jump back Winston was adamant he did not remember the incident. He was originally contacted via a USIN message to meet someone named Simon Vee at a hotel on Intherald about a business proposition. He remembered distinctly going to that hotel and then a day later was standing over the body of the Dahl corporate officer he had shot. At that point he fled and sought out his aunt for help. He distinctly remembered speaking with someone at the hotel. But he cannot recall any other details of the voice or face of the person he spoke to.
Once on Intherald, he was reunited with his aunt. The crew was paid and learned through local media in the following days that Duke Winston Allister turned himself in and would be tried for his crime, with some talk about possibly a lighter sentence. A brief investigation into finding Simon Vee was fruitless as it appeared a few days after the shooting, he had crawled into the thruster of a docked ship and fell asleep. When the craft took off, it incinerated him.
The crew decided to take a less stressful job delivering mail to a mining station in the Vilissard system, with a contract to transport miners and staff that had finished their contracts from the mining colony to another system. A milk run was a welcome change to the excitement of the past few weeks.
